AtheroChem Inc. is developing novel compounds for the treatment of coronary artery disease and other related diseases caused by atherosclerosis, an accumulation of fatty deposits within the artery walls.

AtheroChem's compounds target activated macrophage foam cells, key cells in atherogenesis. Our lead drug candidates act on an unexploited upstream target in the reverse cholesterol transport pathway (RCTP). The RCTP is responsible for moving cholesterol away from atherosclerotic plaque to the liver, for excretion. Our compounds modulate the first step within the RCTP.

AtheroChem is a development stage company. It is dedicated to bringing its technologies from the research laboratory to clinic.
