Robert Bender, CEO, has more than three decades of experience in founding and managing life sciences companies. His focus has been on the development of new ventures and he has participated in the management of a number of start-up companies, including Neurochem, Inc.

Mark Carvlin, PhD.
, Chief Operating Officer, earned his PhD at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute and then held faculty positions in the Departments of Radiology at Georgetown University and the University of Pennsylvania. He joined Bristol-Meyers Squibb Corporation in 1991 and held a number of positions in business development, clinical development, technology assessment, strategic planning and marketing. In 1994 he joined Bracco Diagnostics where he held a number of positions including Senior Director, Medical Services and Planning. In 2001 through 2003 he worked with Oye Olukotun and colleagues to redirect the clinical development effort at Esperion Therapeutics prior to its acquisition by Pfizer.

Robert Kisilevsky, MD, PhD, FRCPC, VP-Research, is a co-founder of the company. He has a distinguished scientific career and has done extensive research on amyloid proteins and their function. His previous research at Queen’s University forms the scientific basis of Neurochem, Inc. He is a recipient the Claude P. Beaubien Prix d'Excellence from the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.

Allan M. Green, MD, PhD, JD, Chair, Scientific and Medical Advisory Board, has extensive management experience in the medical, legal and biotechnology sectors and has acted as an advisor to North American clients on FDA regulatory issues. He is Senior Counsel to Epstein Becker & Green, PC, a major law firm with an established healthcare practice.

Douglas McNair, MD, PhD, has extensive experience in designing and managing investigational plans and protocols involving critical and life-threatening illnesses. He has also been a consultant and policy adviser on health services, reimbursement and regulatory affairs to state and federal governments in the U.S. as well as to hospitals, academia and the private sector.

Perry Kim, PhD, Director, Development, was an assistant professor of pharmacology and toxicology at Queen’s University who, prior to joining the Company, moved to PARTEQ Innovations, the technology transfer agency of Queen’s University.

Joseph Cascio, VP-Manufacturing Development, has extensive experience in establishing and directing cGMP manufacturing operations of biotechnology and biopharmaceutical companies. He also provides compliance support for cGMP, QA/QC, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.

Adeoye Y. (Oye) Olukotun, M.D.,Consulting Medical Director, earned his M.D. at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, and his M.P.H. at the Harvard University School of Public Health. He has worked for Pfizer, Inc. and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Corporation where he served as vice president for two divisions of the company. In 1996, he joined Mallinckrodt Inc. as Vice President, Medical and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Medical Officer. From 2003 to 2004 he served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs for Esperion Therapeutics, Inc. until it was sold to Pfizer in 2004. He is founder and Chief Medical Officer of VIA Pharmaceuticals and CEO of CR Strategies, LLC.
